Dr. Kathryn Dance
I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Western Ontario, and completed a pre-doctoral residency in the university’s psychological services unit. I am registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to provide counselling and clinical services to individual adolescents and adults. I am a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and hold adjunct faculty positions at Western in the Department of Psychology and the Faculty of Education. Recently I have held the positions of associate director of clinical training and interim director of psychological services at Western University.
My career has focused primarily on the provision of psychotherapy. My extensive work with emerging adults and mature students in the university context has been deeply fulfilling, and I valued my part-time employment with the Traumatic Stress Service at London Health Sciences Centre. Additionally, I have always enjoyed private practice. Together, these settings have allowed me to work collaboratively with diverse individuals determined to live a meaningful life in the face of their challenges.
Teaching, clinical supervision and training have been significant aspects of my career. I enjoy providing mentorship, and find that working with supervisees offers professional development opportunities for both parties.
I am delighted to be an associate with McKenzie Zayed. It is a pleasure to practice with colleagues who are growth-oriented and who share values of compassion and patient-centeredness. Personally, it is deeply important to me to foreground the creation of a secure relationship with patients, and I’m honoured to work with colleagues who also cherish that privilege.
