Dr. Oona Tiplady
I received my Doctoral Degree in Counselling and Clinical Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. I completed my Predoctoral Residency at the University of Toronto where I divided my time between Counselling and Psychological Services, and Accessibility Services. I am a member of the Ontario Psychological Association.
I have provided psychological services at a number of settings, including the Thames Valley School Board, the London Family Court Clinic, the Canadian Mental Health Association (Elgin Branch), and Counselling and Psychological Services at the University of Waterloo.
My clinical experience includes providing assessment and psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and couples, as well as conducting group therapy and crisis intervention and consultation. I have worked to help people overcome a wide range of challenges, including trauma (e.g., Posttraumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, relationship difficulties, and grief and loss.
I strive to maintain a compassionate and patient-centred approach to my work. I am incredibly honoured to be invited into the lives of my patients and am constantly amazed by the strength and courage they show in committing to understanding, growth, and healing.
